I was wondering if anyone uses Skype for work? We do on a regular basis and wonder how many actually use it.

Hi Susan

I have just started using it becasue I am working partly from home for a few weeks and one of the bosses is in the States - so a Skypecon is far more efficient than a telecon where I am trying to juggle a mobile (handsfree not really an option because he keeps moving away from his hands free at the other end making it difficult to pick everything up), follow an agenda, maybe transfer files or open the diary, or .....

I have only used it a couple of times but I like it and I think it is a useful business tool.  I am waiting for a wireless headset now though so I am not tethered to the laptop whilst awaiting the call!

I have it, but haven't used it yet.  I got mine for personal calls thinking it would be good for friends etc but as yet I haven't got round to trying it out.

I use it to talk to the Jersey family and my partner uses it to talk to Algerie (although he is a novice).  It is very good.  I have even been teaching my aging parents how to do it!

Well worth it, even if you only use a simple camera and headset.

Skype is great.  I use it quite a bit.   We use it for meetings at work and just saving money. I don't use the actual pay to call a phone that often because there has been no need.  The one time I did, it was quite inexpensive though.   If you talk to someone over seas it really is great.

It is Voip (voice over internet protocol) where you can talk using a headset for free computer to computer anywhere in the world.  There is a fee to call a phone.
