What e-mail system do you use?  We switched from Outlook to Lotus Notes about 4 years ago.  I found Outlook to be more flexible.  Just curious about what others use.

I used Eudora about 6-7 years ago.  I have used Lotus Notes in the past and did not care for it.  Currently on Outlook.

I used Lotus Notes when you had to replicate!  Did not really care for it.  I have also used the data base version of Lotus Notes. I have also used Groupwise.
I much prefer Outlook and MS Office programs.

Currently using Groupwise which I don't particularly like, although it has one particularly neat feature (Auto date) which I wish Outlook had.

I prefer Outlook although I know it can't support lots of calendars, which is how lots of folk use it!

Thanks for the information.  The Notes version I have still requires replicaion.  I have access to my bosses e-mail and calendar.  If he is away in meetings and using his blackberry, I can't see his current mail messages unless he comes back and replicates or the system updates every 45 min. or so.  it is cumbersome.  Also, there is no way to transfer ownership of scheduled meetings to another person in notes, unless the owner (originator) cancels the meetings and the new owner reschedules them.  With the changes in companies now a days, it would be helpful to be able to just transfer control to another person instead of going through this process when somone leaves.

Peaches, we use Lotus Notes.  I've been here for 7 years, and I am so used to it, I don't know if I'd want to go back to Outlook.  I only used that for a short time at a temp job.

Are you saying that in Outlook you can change meeting chairs?  That would be most useful.

Not sure if that is a feature in outlook.  Lotus Notes will not let you do it though.  It does make the transition when someone leaves a position a bit cumbersome.  We also use a database to reserve meeting rooms.  We can't remove peoples names who have blocked a room for a year for a repeating meeting, so it clogs up room availability as well.

I've been using Outlook for well over 10 years.  Used lotus notes before that, but can barely even remember it.

I'm curious about what you mean by Outlook doesn't support lots of calendars, Jackie.  Can you elaborate?

I've used outlook, groupwise, lotus notes, thunderbird mozilla and a few other programs. I prefer Outlook hands down.

Jackie may have been referring to non exchange users. In order for Outlook to support multiple calendars, the server needs to be running exchange.

Ahhhh....that makes sense.  I've only ever used Outlook on an Exchange network.

Sorry, I wrote it in a hurry.  I was working in an office last summer where one girl had access to about 10-12 different diaries of managers.  Her Outlook kept crashing and the IT folk said she shouldn't really have more than 3-4 diaries!  Impossible.  Outlook wasn't designed for that.

Was she trying to show all of them at the same time?  That's the only thing I can think of that would cause her to crash.  I've had access to as many calendars, but I never try to look at that many at once.
