Hi

I read this today, and was shocked - http://www.alternet.org/healthwellness/56303/. I haven't read the original study yet. The country described by this article sounds to me more like a badly governed third world country, than the USA. What do you think? I lived in the USA 1976-1979 and loved every minute of it. I've been back several times since, but not enough to get a genuine picture of such a huge country.

Sorry, I don't know why the link wasn't active in my post. Maybe it's because I have javascript turned off in my browser. Apologies.

If that's the case, then why is everything here made for tall people

There is some truth to that in my opinion.   I am only five feet tall if I lie, (4'11" actually!) and my twin sister is 5'3" which is taller but not much.  My parents are both tall, my dad is 6'0" and my mom 5'9".  So who knows.  As for things made for taller people that is SO true, exercise machines, cabinets in the kitchen, I just dont think about all the things becuase you take them for granted.

Ok evertime I try to do this, it comes out as a link, replace the text with the keyboard keys's for putting an active link, you have to add the coding.  To make a link active you add  <(symbol for lesser than) a href=" http://www.yoururl.com"

So in that link, just remove the (symbol for lesser than), close up the space between

I disagree... All of my mom's family is shorter than my sister and I, and I'm taller than my mom by a good 5 inches, so we're not talking just a small difference.  And my Grandma and Grandpa on both sides of the family were shorter than their kids, who all had taller kids, who are having still taller kids.  I'm 5'7", and Tanner (my 3 year old) is already up to my waist, in the highest heigth group at his well-baby appts, and Justin (the 2 year old) is even taller than Tanner was at the same age.

Perhaps it depends on the cultural background of all the folks that you look into.

Anyway... that's my thoughts.
