Boss's Day is in 10 days and I'm at a loss as to what to get for my boss.  His birthday was last week, I got him a gift certificate to his favorite restaurant and I custom ordered some M&M's in Raiders colors (he's a big-time Raiders fan) that say his name and 'Go Raiders' (this was a big hit, you can order them off M&M's website).  Now we've got boss's day and then Christmas ...
any suggestions?

Case of wine or bottle of his fav spirit (if he drinks), crystal letter opener (bought for an ex boss - he loved it), leather folder he can take to meetings, leather wallet, tickets to concert/show, personal coffee maker for his desk (got my sister this for Chrimbo last year and she loves it), nice fountain pen, golf balls with his initial on etc, etc.

yeah! Good ideas, or, one of those golf putter practice things that spit the ball back out at you when you get it in. I got one of those for my dad and he LOVES it. But be careful, dont buy this if you work in close proximity to said boss, they make a really really annoying sound.

Those M&M's are a fantastic idea!! Who'd have thought you could do that!!!!! WAAOOW!!!!!

What about one of the those basketball hoops?  I got my cousin one for xmas a few years back.  Just a novelty thing that men (or boys) like to play with now and again.  It's comes with a small sized ball so they can relieve some stress too if needs be - just make sure to duck!!

Must check out the M&M's site.

Good suggestions!  The golf thing sounds like it won't work though, my work area is directly outside of his office.  No noisy toys.  Smiley  The letter opener or leather folder sound like good ideas, the customized golf balls sounds like what I'll get for him for Christmas.

Here's some more suggestions for those in the U.S., makes great thank you gifts, birthday gifts, etc.

Okay, can someone tell  me what date Boss' Day falls on - I've found a couple of different dates - so clarification would be greatly appreciated.

I'm admin for 2 directors, but I pitch in for managers in our departments that are without admins - I'm gettng party favors of m&m's with 'happy boss' day' printed on them (www.mms.com).  This way I can acknowledge everyone with a little something and not kill my budget.

I liked the edible arrangements website - can't wait to be able to use that for a special occassion!

Bosses Day is always October 16th.  This year, that just happens to be a Sunday.  It's your call then as to whether to "observe" it with them on Friday or Monday.  I usually use the old "if it's on Saturday, celebrate on Friday" rule.  When the date falls on a Sunday then, I celebrate on Monday.  Hope this helps.

These are all great ideas and I know I will use them.

We are doing a gift certificate to Amazon.com for our boss - everyone is contributing a min. of $5, and since I have a fairly large team, the certificate will end up being about $100.  Amazon is great because you can get just about anything through them.  No wrapping, no shopping, no trying to second guess what he would want.

My bosses--and all the other people I support--are enjoying the bagels I brought in this morning!
