I'm losing my job!  Why do I have a smile on, because I've wanted to get out for a long time.

So does anyone have a general cover letter I can take a peek at?

Congratulations!

I'm sure with a positive attitude like thatyou'll have no problem getting a much better job.

I have never used a general covering letter.  At college I was given a good piece of advice which was to never use the same CV twice.  In other words, you should tailor your cv to the job you want and I guess that would apply to the covering letter aswell.  The best cv format I've seen is used by Flame Recruitment Agency in a pack they were giving out at Times Creme.  I'm pretty sure there was also a sample covering letter.  Might be worth checking out their website.

Hey meanwhile because you are being let go you can collect unemployment while looking for something that you'll enjoy even more and hopefully with more pay to boot.  Enjoy your time with the little one too, and they are right with that good attitude you'll find something in no time.

Yep they told us what was happening even though everyone expected it.  So now it's like watching the countdown clock!
