As much as I hate to admit it, but chatrooms improved my typing speed big time.

Inperspective, how appropriate - as long as you keep things in perspective, there's nothing at all wrong with chat rooms!  LOL

has anyone done real training in london, like  pitman training

how many  hours does it really take to learn to type really fast.

i ahve just started to the learn this is my second week, just at 40-45wpm at the moment.

also i would like to a find a really good proofreading course. i like to do all these course  within  a month.

A month??? Wow that's some target.  Speed comes with time and it's just practice, practice, practice in that case!  Just make sure you don't compromise accuracy for speed though!

Never took a pitman course, I learned on the old fashioned typewriter and it took me months to get speed and accuracy.

Here's some of the sites I found for a post I did on my blog about Keyboarding Skills.  Some of these go from beginner to advanced.  The most important thing is to get a lot of practice.  That's the best way to improve your skill.

Peter’s On-line Typing Course - this is the best one, in my opinion. The text is a bit pedantic, but then, so am I. Overall, though, this seems to be a very complete keyboarding tutorial.
Keyboarding Practice  - a number of typing drills for practice
Typing Tutorial  - this site has a good general tutorial as well as games and tests to help you reach your goal.
Keyboard Lessons  - 10 lessons for keyboarding. Gives good feedback, but the interface is a bit annoying.
