Back to my peeve on how NO ONE LISTENS to me! We ran out of water on Tuesday everyone starts whining how we have no water and when's the next delivery. I said the next delivery is next Tuesday (June 3). So I call and order an emergency bottle and the water people tell me that they will be here Thursday with the emergency bottle but they will still come out for our regular delivery date. Ok no problem. That same day I'm telling everyone that we having a bottle delivered on thursday (today) and they're still going to a delivery on Tuesday June 3rd. This morning (Thursday) the water guy comes in and has to walk through our office to get to the water cooler, he puts the new bottle in and is out the door. Does anyone notice Of course nobody noticed this! And what do they do? Nag the company downstairs for a bottle of water cuz we ran out!!!! I'm yelling at them "where did this water come from?" and they said "ABC" company and I said, "why did you do that for!? The water guy was here this morning!!!" then everyone says "I thought the water was coming next week and you didn't tell us anything!" We have the same thing at our office, but the delecate lambs that work here need bottled water in the fridge as well as the huge water bottle and the faucets, they also have flavoured fizzy water free in the vending machine in case they fancy a change. And yes all hell breaks loose if any of these supplies run short.

So is Lake Ontario water if you ask me, but we have to have the culligan man come in with one of those countertop coolers and a faucet that is right on the side of the sink so if someone has a bottle they want to fill they won't have to make a mess like they used to with the big water cooler we had at our other location. What a mess and of course they were too busy to clean up after themselves if they spilled water on the floor! Sheesh! Not only that but they have bottled water in the machine they can pay a 1.00 for if they so desire. Talk about spoiled! Chris68 Peer Moderator

Just be glad you guys don't have one of those new-fangled Kuerig coffee machines, which brews individual cups of coffee in about 30 seconds. Now I can never order the right flavors to please the masses, since apparently regular and decaf don't cut it anymore.
"Oh, only Hazelnut and Swiss Chocolate Almond? Don't we have any French Vanilla? Oh, I want the French Vanilla in decaf..." I mean, geez, if you need your flavor fix that bad, there's a Starbucks across the street!
The tradeoff, of course, is that I no longer have to scour the coffeepot with 1/4 inch of burnt coffee on the bottom.

We just got rid of ours, too expensive! We went to the thermal pots and they are wonderful! You don't have to have the heat on the pots, in fact they recommend you don't cause it works better on the pots if you don't. So no more worries about leaving the burners on. The only worry we have now is remembering to open the lid when you brew a fresh pot of coffee or you will have coffee everywhere! Its much cheaper this way and you get fresh brewed coffee again instead of that instant crap. Chris68 Peer Moderator

We have thermal carafes, too, but does anyone use them? Nooooo! They just make a pot of coffee and let it sit there on the heater. Maybe they're afraid they'll spill it and make a mess if they try to put it in the carafe or something...
I used to be the only one who put it in the carafe and I finally gave up!

We have the coffee maker that Chris is speaking of, too. It is wonderful. The coffee drips directly into the carafe, no actual coffee "pot" involved. The carafe IS the coffee pot and then keeps the coffee fresh and hot. Also, we only provide flavored powdered creamers. If anyone wants something different, or a different brand of coffee it is their choice and thereby their responsibility to bring it in and make it. There are too many important issues to be handled for me or our admin asst to be catering to everyone's coffee whims!

I agree. Yes the caraf is the coffee pot and it's great cause they don't want you to put it on a burner either. It specifically states not to. Yes it does stay hot, but probably not as long as a coffee pot would, but then our coffee doesn't stay around that long anyway. We have two regular pots and one decaf pot and an extra in case we need more of one or the other. Plus whoever thought up of that hot water tap, gotta love em! Great for instant soups! The caraf/coffee pot is a great time saver and totally mobile! We also have a couple of air thermoses that we use during meetings and such. I believe they belong to our coffee service company but they seem to just leave them there for us. Guess they know where to find em if they need it. There for a while we were using em on a weekly basis. Not so right now but thats due to change. Chris68 Peer Moderator
