Well Okay there's still a smell of paint in the place and even the training isn't all up there yet, but we thought your faith in us and give you regulars a sneak peek at what will be BreakTime University.  There are a few modules in there nothing that's spectacular. but we're really just testing the fucntionality at this point before we actually throw open the doors in a couple more days. so go in and Click on Avaialble courses and run thru the steps to registration.  Stop over at the new landing page which at the moment you'll have to access directly, since I think the boys are changing the links as we speak so click from here.

Any way, on the side bar you'll find three links, two are medium to small flash movies, however Campus tour part 2 is a MAMOUTH file of about 2 Mbs so if you're on a dial up connection, don't shoot me.  I suggest if possible you watch all three so you kind of "get" the ideas behind some of it and then as I know you always do,, email me.  and Of course there's that whole It's still waaaaay under construction thing but it's almost birthed and I want you all to be there as it evolves, in the next few days,, so start on this page here:  http://www.deskdemon.com/pages/uk/btu/preindex

Yea!!!!

Thanks Andrea.  I've gotten myself registered and am ready to give it a whirl.  Now I just have to find the downtime.  Thank goodness for alt/tab.

Well rememebr guys we're now still bug testing so don't get discouoraged when you don't see anything truly exciting in there yet, we'll be adding some things over the next couple of days to allow you to push the Quiz engine to it's limits and test out certificate of achievement generation and download and bug testing, well it's just not the same without actual users involved because we can get so blinded to how you see something because we know what it's SUPPOSED to do, so please, let me know what makes sense and doesn't make sense where you see room for improvement or change (I know hard to do when you're not half way thru the buidling one to many databases module) however that's why we'redoing this now rather than when you ARE trying to genuinely learn something and can't because of some bug.

Your feedback has been good and steady and I appreciate it, keep it coming!

Hi Andres:

I went in and registered and ran arount the Univ. campus with what's available.  I'm truly excited to see it in its infancy and can't wait to get started on the real "bricks and mortar" so to speak.

Thanks for all the hard work.

How do you know you are registered?

I click on register, and get as far as seeing Module coming up, nothing asks me anything....

Confused!

I think if you already have a DD e-mail addy you don't have to go through the whole registration process.  All your information is there from when you registered as a DD user.  (Am I right Andrea?)

Yes, and no.  When you register at DeskDemon you're in effect a registered student at BTU, however when you want to register for a course, you;ll need to look to the side bar, I realized that Im not actually all that coherent so I thought a picture would help.

First,
There are three states or ways you can exisit in BreakTime University.

1.  As a Non DD registered user(or one who is not logged in the system can't tell the difference if you arent; logged in.

2.  As a Registered DD user who hasn't started any classes yet
3.  As a Registered DD user who has registered for classes.

there's an example of each of these states on this link so you can see them easily and the key is really that whole

Available courses Bit.

If you click on it and you're not logged in it takes you to the overall DD registeration.

If you're already Registered it takes you to a page where you get a little information about the course you've clicked on and the ability to register for that course (just a mouse click, no forms)

After you click you get an email confirming and ... Bob's your uncle.

the next time you come back into BTU or refresh your screen and click on that course whereEVER it shows up (just look for ORI_101 and click it whereever you find it!) you;'ll go to your classroom for that course.

you might want to expand your screen to full screen for a second or two so you can see the pic without it being fuzzy. Smiley
