Well, Bossie, Shop Foreman, and I are headed to Cincinnati on the 23rd-26th of this month for software training. Airline seats and rental car is reserved (I just love the whole e-ticket bit!), and hotel reservations are pending a reply from the discount contact at the hotel.
Anybody have any tips or tricks on how to make this thing come off smoothly and successfully? The software company sent over a 17 page fax with directions and such to all kinds of places in Cincinnati. Anybody from that area? Any recommendations/ "stay-away-from-there's"? And what're the chances of a flight cancellation at the end of January in Cincinnati?
Thanks!

Which airline are you flying? I know that United has been having quite a bit of problems lately with flight cancellations and I have had one of my flights cancelled. Make sure you keep checking the flight the day of departure and same for returning.
I hope you have a safe trip!

We're flying Delta. Going from Atlanta to Cincinnati, Delta is the only carrier that offered non-stop flights -- and they had the best rates!
Funny story -- one of the many options with a few layovers/flight changes would've started out in Atlanta, going I don't remember where on a jet, from I don't remember where to somewhere else on a TURBOPROP!!!, and from somewhere else to Cincinnati on another jet. I just kept laughing and laughing at the whole turbo-prop bit. -- And it cost more than straight from ATL to CVG on Delta!
And we will definitely be checking on cancellations. One of the reasons we're leaving the night before is so we can drive it if we have to -- Cincinnati is between a 6-8 hour drive from Atlanta depending on how lead-footed the driver is.

I live in Central Ohio and have been to Cincinnati MANY times. It's one of my favorite places. If you like to shop, go to the Tri-County Mall. It's great.
If you like to gamble, there are a couple of riverboats about 45 minutes away. The hotel will give you directions and may even have a shuttle.
There is so much to do and see. They have a wonderful museum (one of the best in the country), restaurants, shopping, historical sites, antique stores, etc. Hope you have a wonderful time.
Cincinnati isn't difficult to navigate around either, at least I don't think so.
