To make this brief but of an urgent nature....
Our non-profit organization is hosting an annual event this Tuesday. And the bottom line is that myself and the Development Director are stumped on what to do for table covers. We didn't want to go with the tacky plastic tablecloths but to rent linens is too expensive. Any wonderful Martha Stewart-ish ideas floating around out there?? A decision has to be made by this afternoon...as Event is on Monday!! AGH!!!!

How about clean white sheets? We have used them for table cloths for many events for IAAP, Eastern Star, etc.
If you catch them on sale. twin-size flat sheets are almost as cheap as the tacky plastic ones!

I just love it when I can be useful. Go to the fabric store, and get some seasonal fabric: leaves or pumpkins or something festive. Cut into square pieces, they will look great draped over a table. If it's large, just drape two pieces over. For centerpieces, use mini pumpkins and those little 3-ears of corn thingies that you can get at a vegetable stand or probably at the grocery store.

You just know that Martha would have had hand-embroidered Irish linen cloths or something like that tucked away for just such an occassion!

At the last fall party I did, I bought those clear acrylic tablecloths (found mine at MJDesigns) and collected the best Fall Leaves I could find. I scattered the leaves on the table and then added the clothes. It kept the leaves from falling off the table, and kept the food away from the leaves.
