We never said we ate it in the morning! Ugghhh - my stomach can't handle anything but coffee and more coffee for at least 2 hrs after I get up!
Nope - cereal is great for lunch dinner or a snack.

Cereal I agree is good stuff. Sugar-cereal? Hmmm. Maybe it's the geographically determined gene pool I come from - bacon is for breakfast.

Mmmm.... Bacon on toast ... or vegemite on toast!!! Yum.
I guess I'm lucky in that I have a hubby who can make a mean stir fry .... which is just as well, as my idea of dinner is pasta.
Special occasions or weekends are the only times when I have enough time to cook a meal like my mum makes!

Andrea - I wasn't talking about COOKING! I was talking about throwing stuff in a crock pot (you don't cook anything first!!) and, voila!...dinner is ready when you come home from work (provided you remember to turn the button to "on") In my opinion, these are two VERY different things! Btw, my son LOVES cereal, cinnamon toast, and ANYTHING that can be cooked in the microwave (another of my favorite appliances!)
Hope y'all have a great day!!

Now there's an idea...actually I can't stand the stuff by itself but it's nice on a cheese sandwich. Or better yet in stew...mmm! You can even make all-vegetable stew with that stuff!
Personally, as fattening as they are, my favourite breakfast in the whole world has to be cinnamon rolls. Go to the Mall and get Cinnabons & Starbucks--oh, yeah! (even better is when it's the start of a day of Christmas shopping and you get an eggnog latte--I do that once a year and damn the calories!!) But most days I try to be good and eat my oatmeal!

Ok, sorry I can't relate to this one. No kids. While my hubby has been unemployed, dinner is usually ready (or nearly ready) when I get home, along with my marguerita or cosmo. If he didn't feel like cooking, then he called "Waiters on Wheel."
AND, each morning, he would make my lunch. I can hear ya'll now...yes, he has a brother; no, they're nothing alike.
All good things must come to an end, starting Monday, hubby will be working again.

Oh, I can relate to your post, sungoddess!! My hubby is an *awesome* cook - especially his curries--and he always cooked dinner for me when he wasn't "working" so much (he's self employed). But lately he's been out of town a lot and so busy he hasn't had time to cook. I do miss it! I like to cook too but many nights I just don't feel like it. But then again, I'm happy things are going so well with my hubby's project and one day it'll make us rich enough to just eat out or hire someone to cook. Plus we have a roomie who does a lot of the cleaning so I can't complain!

vegemite? Marmite by any other name. A single-cell protein food, suitable for vegans. Has a strong beefy taste. Can be used on toast or in sandwiches (mmm cheese and marmite) or added to a pint of hot water to make a virtually calorie-free stock.

I can relate to sungoddesslv. My husband is disabled. When I get home from work dinner is just about ready to eat (and he is a gormet cook, me I cook meat and potatoes). Even on meeting nights I go home first and eat. This saves me money also. I just attend the business and entertainment part of the meetings. Thanks God for my hubby.
