As an admin for a company would you wear a uniform every day.  By uniform I mean a selection of employee purchased logo shirts or blazers?  I was recently offered a position  and this requirement was a reason that I turned it down - even the senior executives were wearing logo button down shirts.  There were a few other reasons but this leads me to the question above.

I'm not a fan of wearing any kind of logo, sports affiliation etc.  Also, I have invested in my work wardrobe and didn't want to have to immediately spend $$ to be compliant.

We have logo polo-type shirts and dress shirts for the directors.  Its not mandatory to wear them, but most people do at least once or twice a week.  Because of what we manufacture, everyone has to wear a lab coat on the production floor.  They're not mandatory in the administrative offices but most people keep them on to avoid having to put it on everytime they have to go to production.  I never go down there so I don't wear the coat, but I do keep it at my desk just in case.

To be honest, I thought I would hate wearing the lab coat or the logo shirts, but since we dress in jeans and t-shirts mostly anyway, it actually makes it easier to get dressed in the mornings and everyone looks a little neater.

I have a closet full of dressier office attire that I too have invested a LOT of money in and is not getting used at all for now.  I just figured since its mostly classic styles, I can use them for my next job.

If it's required for a company, then I expect them to provide them or give me a wardrobe allowance.

If that were provided, I wouldn't care.

I'm fortunate to currently work for a company that has no dress code. I wear jeans and tshirts/sweaters every day.
