Can you think a minute and post one postive thing in your life.  It can be personal or business related.  I have a follow up question (not negative) in a few days, so hopefully some post away.

I have a bunch!  But what comes to mind right now is my puppy (he isn't a puppy but 1 1/2 years old)  HE is a positive.

Several positives come to mind, but the one I value most is my health.

Without it, I wouldn't be able to work or travel.  I am very lucky in that regard.

Mine would have to be a very close and supportive friend - it is even more positive because it is the most unlikely of friendships and has sprung out of nowhere just when I needed that sort of support.

I am usually the one doing all the positive stuff for other people and I am really enjoying having that offered to me.

A beautiful view from my desk.  I can look out and see trees and a garden type view.  I love it.

Hope I don't get told off for posting two positive things ...?

I have been working all day on trying to help someone in Germany get their PHD Thesis finalised so I can print and bind it tomorrow for submission by the deadline on Wednesday.  He got into a few problems with Word (you know that thing where the style formatting suddenly goes screwy every time you breathe ...) and was panicking.

I have only met him once, a few months ago but with a bit of modern technology (Instant Messaging) and some reassuring calming words exchanged and a little time we now have a stable Word document and a PDF I can get printed and bound tomorrow.

I love the feeling at the end of a day like this - knowing I have done my best professionally to help someone rescue their hard work ... and the real positive is the genuine appreciation of a job well done <sigh> after all I can get my time back - he only gets one chance to submit this thesis!

Off home in a few minutes for a few hours rest and then back at dawn to get it finished - who says an admin's day is all dull routine?

I have had good bosses and bad bosses but for the past 2 years I am blessed to have the best boss of all.  I hope we continue a long partnership.   We just click well together.

My hubby.  He is there through the ups and downs.   If I am sick he is there, good times he is there, even when we have the down times he is there.  He is the most postive thing in my life.

What an interesting question!  And it's not until you stop and think about it (well, for me, anyway) that you realise how many good things you have in your life to be thankful for.

For me, today, uppermost, it's that the sun is shining (a blessing and a rare treat in the UK this summer) and I have a great boss.

There's a whole host of other things but that's top right at this moment.

Where do I start?  I have a lot of positive things in my life (as well as some major challenges).

Top of my list, though, is my family.

I volunteer usher at a performing arts center where there is a volunteer committee.  I was nominated to be on the committee and was voted by the other volunteers for one of the four open slots.  We have over 1,000 volunteers; the committee is to make suggestions to management to make the volunteer experience rewarding and positive for volunteers and patrons alike.

Ok, please keep more positive things, but I have another question in relation to this post.   Think about this, when you thought of your one positive, did it make you feel good in a way?  A moment of content of happiness?

I know it does for me and hope it does for others.   When I am having a bad day, I take a moment out and try that exercise, think of one thing I know makes me happy. I look at my kids pictures, or my pets!   I think of a good work memory.  I know not everyone thinks the same way, but I just think positive thinking is self empowering.

Since the one positive I chose was health, it makes me appreciate I am physically able to do things, but I don't necessarily think of it in terms of cheering myself up.

No, if I'm having a bad day, I will do something else like pamper myself eg. a beauty treatment at the weekend, shopping spree, or lunch with a friend, even a good movie will suffice.

Without my health I couldn't do or enjoy any of those.
