The autumn leaves are falling
The days are drawing in
The summer sun is fading
The nights are growing dim

Summer clothes are put away
Out comes the autumn attire
No more summer bar-b-q’s
It’s cocoa by the fire

The crisp and frosty mornings
Are with us once again
It makes a welcome change
After all that summer rain

Hallowe’en and pumpkins
Candied apples by the score
Lanterns are a flicker
Tricksters at your door

With messages of winter
Nights are on the turn
Only 3 more months to Christmas
Oh where has this year gone?

Good morning Gee

I read this yesterday but got sidetracked with work before I could add a note.

Reading it again this morning (with low Autumnal sunshine streaming across the desk)  it is even better ... I love Autumn and Winter anyway but the poem reminds me that they are something to look forward to instead of something to dread - lovely, thank you.

I'm sad that summer is over but it's been a pleasant swing into autumn so far.  Smiley

I'm going to a wedding tomorrow and I think the forecast is good.

Is that the Wedding forecast or the weather forecast? Sincerely hope it is both and they have a beautiful day to remember through their long and happy life together  Smiley

A lovely poem Gee.  I'm really enjoying these barmy days and the autumnal starts to them - I like the Autumn too because my birthday falls at this time of year  Wink
