I'm just curious who has a company PDA and part II if you have a personal PDA do you have your work email linked to it?

I have a personal PDA which I do sync with my work PC - only because we operate a different calendar package at work to I do at home and the easiest way to sync calendars is via the PDA.  It does sync the e-mail but I rarely look at e-mail on it.

It's not a PDA, but my company mobile phone is reasonably sophisticated so I can sync remotely with my office PC to get calendar, contacts and also email as it comes in, which is useful when I'm out of the office.  I also get a message on my mobile when I receive a voicemail on my office land line.

It's great, because now I can function completely whether I'm in or out of the office.  The down side is I'm contactable 24/7!

I had a PDA in a previous job but hardly used it and have a personal one that I never use so I'd not find it an advantage.  We're being issued with mobile phones at the moment as the company has a better mobile calls deal than landlines and the savings we can make are immense.

I've made it clear that it stays in the office and I'm not contactable out of hours apart from to the boss (rarer than a green snowflake).

I have a company-issued smartphone so I can get my work e-mail after hours or if I'm working off-site. I also have a personal cell phone but it's just a regular cell, only the Boss and my main Directors have that number.  I tell them that I'm available to them 24/7 but they are very respectful of my time out of the office so they will only call in case of emergency (not quite as rare as a green snowflake, but close).
