.......but it pours!  And today, through the ceiling!

As some of you may recall, our company relocated to the basement of our main branch.  Today, water started coming through one of the ceiling tiles, following very heavy rainfall.  Got the buckets and everything.....but then another one started leaking.  And then water started coming up through parts of the carpet (including the room where we keep our main servers - goody!).

When we went out to a car park, also in the basement, it was nearly flooded and guess what?  Then the smell started......you guessed it.......sewage! URGH!  The water in the toilets started rising....and then bubbling!

Then the rain stopped.....and the water levels started to drop.  Just hoping for not much rain tonight!  I don't think my CPU would like all that water.  And then one of my colleagues from the agency upstairs told me about a time that the basement had flooded before.....and certain items were floating (I don't really want to say what!) around!  Can't wait for work tomorrow!

All the best,
Nicola.

How awful!  Looks like another move is in order....before you guys ruin a lot of expensive stuff through water (and "other stuff":) damage.  Hope it works out for you.

Hi Joyce

The good news is that it didn't rain last night and only a little bit today!

The smell was gone this morning when we got into work....even though I had gone in armed with my Febreeze!

Tomorrow we have some drainage experts coming in to check everything out.  I don't know what they'll say but lets hope it doesn't turn out to be a future problem for us......I can't face moving again!

All the best,
Nicola.
