So I have to ask (no need to be US, I hope everyone is thankful for something!) What are you thankful for?

I am thankful for soooo much. My family (both 2 legged and 4 legged) who are all healthy and doing good. My friends, for so much. But my main one... I'm thankful for our men and women in the military, who put it all on the line to ensure that I have the freedoms that I enjoy. The military and their families pay a huge price to ensure that me and my family can gather together around the table this Thanksgiving and enjoy our turkey and football, and I thank them for that. I know how they feel, to sit down for a holiday without a loved one, knowing that that loved one is putting it all on the line, and I pray that they make it through their time and are soon able to enjoy the benefits that they ensure we all have.

Well, this year I look at our patched roof, and our missing fence, and our battered front door -- all courtesy of Hurricane Sandy -- and I'm grateful that my husband and I, and his parents and siblings, are safe, sheltered, and relatively unscathed.

For the first time in his life my 86 year old dad spend a night in the hospital - but this is a biggie. He had triple bypass surgery Monday. I'm thankful for so much, the surgeron, the nurses everyone at the hospital that is helping dad heal. With luck he will be moved from the ICU today, they keep telling us he is a very healthy for 86. As you might guess he is not the best patient. This will be a special thanksgiving for my family.
