This morning one of the project managers came and asked me to get some breakfast goodies for a meeting she's having tomorrow morning. She wants doughnuts from a specific bakery (that doesn't deliver) and juice. I figure I can pick up the juice tonight some time, and get the doughnuts on my way to work tomorrow--I'll just leave a little early and come in a little late. However, I didn't discuss my plans, I just said, "Sure, I can take care of that." She thanked me and started to go away, then came back to my cube and said, "I just have to tell you, it's such a pleasure working with you because you're always so glad to help and so easygoing, no matter what we ask you for."
Interesting--in my last job, bossie complained constantly that I wasn't nice, wasn't helpful, was intimidating to people, acted like I was better/smarter than they were, etc.

You're nice. That's why people want to hang out with you, even when you are not in a situation where being "hung out" with is a positive thing.
