Oh, I so agree! Netscape for the PC has caused me nothing but headaches. Every time someone here has a problem I tell them to try it using IE.
I applaud the principle of competitors and options, but Netscrape just doesn't work on pages with lots of java. Internet Exploiter is far more reliable.

I TOTALLY HATE EXPLORER but I am forced to use it at work. I can't really tell if it is faster or slower than Netscape but it seems like for every second page I get the "unable to display" message.
I don't care for any MS product (especially PowerPoint which is possibly the WORST program in which to do org charts).
Go US Justice system - smash the MONOPOLY!

I use Explorer by default; it's just what I'm used to. But most Netscape fans I know (including my SO) seem very adamant about it. They tend to think Bill Gates is evil and using Explorer is tantamount to going over to the Dark Side!
Makes you wonder!

Bill Gates isn't evil he's just greedy and underhanded.
Anyhow, I did a little "research". To get the Ottawa Citizen site, Netscape was definitely faster.

I agree about Netscape, I hate it. It totally chokes on Java or graphic heavy web sites. Very annoying.
I agree that that Gates is a Neo-Napoleon, BUT, Microsoft's products work for the most part. I can't say that about Lotus. I swear they are smoking something over at Lotus, and why in the world they don't test their products is beyond me. If I hear about one more Lotus Notes error that's allegedly "Working as normal" just b/c their programers don't know their %#@*$ from a hole in the ground, I'm going to scream!

I hate Internet Explorer!!! I was using Netscape for the last few years and loved it. We just switched to Internet Explorer last month and I find it to be very slow. I also get the "page cannot be displayed" message frequently. Wishing I had Netscape back....

The one good thing about the Netscrape browser/e-mail software package is that most viruses don't work with it.
Something I can't believe: a group of people were gathered around a computer trying to figure out what an attachment was i.e. get it to run. They eventually asked me. I said I thought it was a virus because (1) it was a .exe file and I doubted that the person who sent it could make one, and it wasn't a Flash .exe file (2) because it had a dodgy (poorly made) icon and (3) because it was called "readme" and that is standard for text files. I stood there and said "I am sure this is a virus. Whatever you do, don't double click it".
And she double clicked. Ten seconds later. In front of me.
