Hope everything works out and you hear soon.  I agree you should stick to what you have said and just wait it out til you hear either way.

Good luck!  Let us know how things go.

Glad to hear it went great.  Sorry I was late in posting my reply to your query for interview questions... glad to see it wasn't needed.

Keeping fingers crossed that you'll hear good news soon....

Thank you for all of your help.  I got a call from the agency today and the person that I was not able to speak with yesterday (the boss) wants to meet with me.  The other 2 people I met with really liked me and the agency believes this is just a formality but I should not say goodbye to my current company yet.

Hopefully I will hear something soon since this is driving me nuts.

I agree with CG, sounds very promising.  Sending positive vibes your way.  Crossing fingers is tough to do while your typing cause I make more typos that way.  LOL!  But will be thinking of  you.  Let us know how things go.

Well I finally got a call today from the agency and unfortunately I did not get the job.  They interviewed someone after me and they hired that person (the person was through another agency).

I guess things happen for reasons and hopefully something new will come up soon.  I am disappointed but not totally upset since I have a job already, I know that I can look and be somewhat choosey.  We can now take the vacation we have scheduled (and really need) and our finances will just continue to be the same since I was really woried about finances since this was a temp/perm job and I need benefits.

Now I know why I had a bad feeling this morning and I actually feel calmer then I did this morning.

Sorry to hear that you didn't get the job.  It's hard to jump into a new job when it is temp when there are no guarantees on salary and stability like the job you have.

When I was interviewing and didn't get a job, I tried to look at it like I had gotten some hands-on practice interviewing, so that when the perfect job finally came along I would be the most polished interviewee there.  (though ironically, when I got this job, I temped-to-hire and never ended up having an interview).

Thank you Laura,

I am currently working for a company that I am not happy with - my first permanent position since I moved to Florida (I've been here for 2 years).  I have been looking on and off and lately have received several calls but none have panned out.  This was my first interview and I thought I had it and was told that all I had to do was speak with the boss and that was it - pretty much a done deal I was told.  At first, I was not unhappy about the decision but it finally has hit home and I didn't realize how much it was a great fit - so I thought.

I will keep looking and when the right job comes along, I will grab it and go.

Thank you and everyone at deskdemon for all of your support
Susan

Keep your chin up.  Maybe this was just a dress-rehearsal for the real opportunity that fate has coming your direction.  Don't give up, but do give yourself time to be upset about not getting the position.  Then treat yourself to a luxury (an ice cream, a bubble bath, an extra 15-min reading time) and get ready for the next opportunity.

I'm sorry, too, Newtofl.  I hate when that happens--they make it sound so promising and then, phht.

Countrigal is right on about taking time to feel sad about the situation.  After you acknowledge it, you can move on to whatever is waiting around the next bend.

Best wishes.
