With all due respect, is there ANY other news in the world?  Imagine what news we're not hearing because the war is overshadowing everything.  Have we missed anything big?

I agree Donna.  I'm glued to the war coverage, and recognise it's importance to the families of the service men and women involved, but what about the 1000 people who got executed in the Democratic Republic of Congo this week?  What, you haven't heard about it ... enough said.

I hadn't heard about that either but read an article in this morning's Metro that said because the war is dominating the world's attention at the moment a lot of human rights violations are going unnoticed, they mentioned incidents in Zimbabwe and Egypt.  From the point you make I would say that this is probably true.

What about Castro's newest debacle?  I heard he had executed or imprisoned quite a few people for stupid reasons (read: inhuman treatment).
