Mine is on the corner of my desk and I even invested in a nice wooden one that is a good 4" deep because I get a lot of invoices and tickets that pile up fast. But low and behold, even if the thing is empty, I come in and folks have left stuff on my calculator, my keyboard, or elsewhere on my desk.
Our receptionist will even bring things in when I'm here and lay them across the edge of my inbox. Now that drives me nuts. I see her bringing it in, its safe to put it in the box, you know? And even if there are things in there I'm waiting on info to finish, I go through the papers 2-3 times a day to pull those folder and things so I'm going to see what's in there at least once during the day and will take care of it if its a priority.
But we all have different styles and quirks so I just deal with it and move the papers into my box until I'm ready to handle them.
