Well, have you been to vote yet?  Have you done your bit and had your say?

I went this morning and had my say, we'll know the results for my area early hours of the morning, may stay up and watch some of it - Scottish politics (at least) is fascinating!

For our American and other friends, we have elections here today for the Scottish Parliament (2 votes) and for our local council, and there are also local council elections in England and Wales, as far as I know.

Of course! Not that it was a very exciting election - our sitting independent candidate and a random Green party candidate. Apparently there is some benefit that happens when you put up enough candidates nationally, like getting air time on TV or something. So they've caused an election which they won't win and wasted an awful lot of resources. How green is that?

Well of course it's all democratic now cos it's all over, but I'm surprised you feel that way.  If there were enough of you who felt like that, you could manage to elect the person you wanted instead of the one that everybody else votes for!

Look at us up here - we've got something like 6 Green MSPs - 1 last year, and another 5 Socialists from 1 last year.  That's cos people got up and voted for them (mind you, they didn't know they were going to cause such a blinking fuss when they had to be sworn in, but that's another issue!)

Anyway, nuff said, it's all over for another 4 years now!
