Does your company send out cards or gifts such as candy for the holidays? If so, are you involved with the process, purchasing and sending them?

Some executives still have their assistants send paper cards out on their behalf. However, about 5 years ago, I created an electronic greeting and set it up in my bosses drafts folder. He applies the message to the specific customer and sends it. He loves it and I do it every year. Very green and also allows him to add a personal message to various customers.

In my company this is a decision for each executive. My bosses are not sending out cards or at least have not asked me to send for them. I know several other assistants in the company who are sending out cards. As for gifts, we are very limited by gov. regulations what we can send and this year's budget has slimmed that list down even further. Even gifts received this year is down, by now we would have cookies, popcorn and other assorted food stufs - I haven't seen anything even in other departments. I appreciate not sending cards or gifts: two less items for me to track.

The top director of our company sends out cards to the employees. Otherwise it's pretty much on an individual basis. My boss doesn't.

The "corporate" cards are sitting on my desk waiting to go, but Boss needs to wait to get the go-ahead from his boss to ensure we don't send a duplicate card. I'm in fundraising, and duplicated mailings look bad to donors. Makes us look wasteful and disorganized. And while I agree with that....*sigh*....nothing is simple in this business... ![Roll Eyes](http://www.deskdemon.com/dnet/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)
