I actually, LITERALLY, did this about 2 years ago, when I had a serious conversation about the status of my job. I was paying off student loans and needed the job. Having a conversation with my best friend in the world helped. We know each other better than anyone, even ourselves. And she was candid about the way I acted. And I took everything she said into account. Fortunately, I was young (26) and I could correct each item easily by paying attention to how I acted instead of just going about my day blindly. In some ways, we may have to question each act or word that comes out of our mouths before we say them, but if it improves your professional and personal relationships, I find it a small price to pay.
