I second all said so far. I could write a book on unprofessional (in my opinion) experiences with agencies and their staff. Not all set out to give this bad impression but as Gee says, they are inundated with enquiries for any one vacancy they advertise and usually now say, if you have not heard from us within 3 weeks, assume you have been unsuccessful.
Even when you have built up a 'relationship' with someone at an agency (met them, done the tests etc etc) I feel you then become a name on their books. My own calls have not been returned, my email queries unanswered and so on. When you are sitting in front of them in their office, they talk to you as if you are their best friend, but call them the next day,and they struggle to remember you.
It's not personal but very frustrating. Keep on trying and don't pin your hopes on one position or one agency - keep plenty of irons in the fire. Something will turn up. Good luck.
