Without getting into a political discussion here...

how do you feel about the presidential debates?  Now that they are over, did they help you make up your mind, make you change your mind, reinforced the way you already felt, or did it just "muddy the waters" for you?

I basically felt the debates were useful, although I wish there had been less "sniping" by both candidates.  Less of "he did (or didn't do) such-and-such", and more of "I will do (want to do) such-and-such" would be a lot more helpful.

For me, though, I feel the debates reinforced my decision.

Same for me Spitfire...although I believe that the President looked his best last night and held his own very well.  Moreso than the last two debates.

I haven't watched any of them.  I think I can learn as much about the candidates - if not more - by investigating their policies, their votes, and their histories.  And I think the debates are too controlled to get deeply into issues. I might go so far as to say scripted in some areas.  Also, if I were persuaded to give any attention to the debates, I would not watch.  I don't need my opinion of how someone looks - whether it be nervous, impatient, or smug, to influence the impression I get from the words they say.

That said, after hearing the "reviews" of the debates, I have felt absolutely no desire to change who I plan to vote for.

I wish that they would actually answer the question being asked instead of using the question to get to what they want to emphasize.  I would like to hear real answers.  I do have my mind made up and it has been reinforced by the three presidential debates and the VP debate.
