Are pets in the office becoming more mainstream?   Do you know any company that has someone who brings a pet to the office?  Last question, what are your thoughts on pets in the office?

Although I would love it, no, I don't think it is becoming more mainstream. I think you are more likely to see it in a very small family owned company.

I think here in the US there's just too many liability concerns for it to ever get truly widespread. Employers have concerns about someone getting bitten, allergies, the waste treatment, employees getting distracted, the safety of the pets, etc.

It may be the area you live in.  I feel it is getting to be more mainstream.  It may not be in downtown areas though, but the building I work in has about 30 different companies from small offices to mid size of 100 people companies (no more than 100, that is the biggest).   I know at least 6 of those companies have one to two dogs in their offices.  It must be the area because there is a doggy potty bag dispenser.

Pets are not allowed in my building.  I agree the liability is too high in the US.  Smaller offices, owner pet is the only place I have seen pets in an office or business.

UK - I wasn't allowed to take my dogs into the office of the previous company I worked for, but where I work now I can if I wish.

I love animals, but think that this would be an issue for employees with allergies.

Not allowed in my building.  If they were and someone brought their dog, I would quit immediatly.  I have extreme cynophobia and there is NO way I could work in an office near a dog.  They are lovely in pictures but I just cannot bring myself to get near one.

I should note though that I didn't have a problem at my previous company sharing an office with my bosses pet snake  Cheesy
