Going with my (cheat I know) second positive - it absolutely gave me a boost.  I did partially answer this in the original post (sorry for pre-empting you Susan!).

We finally got the Thesis submitted yesterday and it has been a very intense 48 hours but the moment where I took control, got him chatting on IM so we could discuss the issues in real time and delivered the line "Yes, I understand you are tired, stressed by the software and probably haven't eaten in a couple of days, but you are not doing this on your own now - I will help you and we will solve the problems together" I could hear the relief across the miles ...

I have probably gained a friend, he has certainly gained skills (both Word and team working) but most of all I felt competent and that always makes me feel good and positive about everything else.

Hope everyone else's positives have helped them too - great Sound Off! Susan, thanks.

Cathy

Positives:

I have my health.
I have a wonderful family, a husband of 30 yrs I love and trust, two kids who are "good" kids, no drugs, no trouble.
I have a job I enjoy and work with people I like.  I am blessed with a wonderful boss with whom I work very well - we have a great partnership.
I have a best friend I have had for over 30 years.
I have a few good friends as well. The kind you can not talk to for a year, then, get a call or give  a call and pick up like no time has passed.
I have two dogs and enjoy "puppy kisses" when I come home in the evening.

My husband is out of work right now, but he is still the best thing that ever happened to me.  He is bow-hunting for deer this week, so I miss him.  But it does make me feel content just to think of how lucky I am.

  • 2 GREAT kids in college (pre-paid tuition)
    fully-paid-for house
    heat is running
    food in kitchen
I'd say I've got it pretty good.

Thanks, Susan, for making me think about these blessings. Grin
