I had an interview last week and at the end the interviewer said twice that if I wanted to see where they were at with the position to give her a call. I've never been told that in an interview before. Does this mean I should call? Will it show that I am interested in the position if I call to check in? They will be contacting me the end of this week and I would really be fine with waiting to see, but now I'm wondering if I should call.

This could possibly be a test for your follow up skills. I would wait an appropriate time and make the follow up call. Re-Emphasize your interest in the position and how your skills match to their current needs.

Thanks....that's what I'm kind of thinking because I've gone on a few interviews before and I've never heard that. I sent out my thank you cards yesterday so I think I'll call Thursday or Friday.
