I don't know about you guys, but I'm craving human touch ... human connection today.  I keep hitting the boards, watching and reading the responses, and I'm comforted.  I want to stay connected to you guys ... afraid to let go.  I've hugged the woman in the cube next to me about 6 times since this all began ... I think she's beginning to wonder about me.

In all seriousness, though, I'm glad to have a place to come to ... friends to rely on ... virtual hands to hold.  So thanks.

Consider yourself hugged Wink.  Wish we had an emoticon for that....hmmm there is a suggestion for the ole box.

We called both sets of parents yesterday and chatted for a while.  MIL lives by herself and I am sure she was watching all this tragety yesterday, so hubby called home and we chatted for quite a while, made us all feel better I think.  My mom felt better after talking to her kid yesterday afternoon for a while when all this was going on, she didn't tell me at the time that she was waiting to hear from her brother.  At least we know he is safe.

Hugs again Wink, they are addicting and thats a good thing.

I too extend my hugs to each of you.  I am feeling the craving for human touch as well.  I left work yesterday at 12 pm, wanting to hug my child and just get to a safer place then a Denver skyscraper)  I still have not heard from my SO who is no where near NY or DC but I cannot reach him and that is not reassuring.  Hugs to all of you

Ded..praying for you...

And agreeing with everyone about the desire for human contact right now.  I was really upset yesterday when I couldn't reach my husband for hours and hours... he finally called at 2:30 (those of you who know the military understand my fears and thoughts).  All I could do last night when I got home was hug him, hold him.  I had to leave him this morning, but made sure I told him that I love him (with a hug and kiss of course).  I have a feeling anytime we're apart for a while I'm going to be sure I say it out loud (I love you) because we never know when something might happen.

And that's also why I hung around the site so much yesterday... I couldn't reach my husband, but my friends were here to keep me sane.  Liz, thank you for all you did for me yesterday.  It might seem miniscule to you, but it was a big deal on this end.

Hugs and praises for all of you!

I understand how you feel winkie.  I got home last night and kept hugging and touching my children and telling them I love them.  Then after they went to sleep, I just stood in their door watching them sleep and thanking God they were safe.

dedlered - I'll say a prayer for your SO's safety and for you to hear from him soon.

{{{hugs}}} to all of you.

Here in Europe, people are closer to each other, too. I can't remember that there was such a situation in the past.

People went to church, praying for freedom and peace, in offices they light candlels, they put down flowers in front of U.S. embassies and military bases.

Today, at 10:00 a.m (German time) we all call upon to take part to put down work for 5 minutes and hold on in silence. Busses and trains will stand still, radio stations should interrupt their programm etc.

We are all with you in these days.

First, Ded, prayers that your SO will be able to reach you soon.

Second, I noticed yesterday on my way in to work that people in traffic were acting in a far more civil manner than I have seen in a long time.  Could it be that in the wake of such inhumane acts, society is regaining its humanity?
