I realize this is an old thread, but I found it interesting because 1) I work in a hospital and we have therapy dogs and, 2) we have laws in the US that people with assistance dogs are permitted anywhere. More and more people have them, especially military veterans with anxiety issues. The general public needs to be more accepting of this. The therapy dogs in the hospital are clean and, in any case, you are in far more danger of germs from a fellow human than from a dog.
