I think all but one of the companies I’ve worked for has given a bonus of one kind or another.  Even where I am now does, which is tied into the ad hoc conference business we do during the summer.

I’ve also received in the past – and here now – “merit increases”, not performance-related.  Unfortunately where I am now only gives them every other year.  But hey!  Not complaining – good to get anything above & beyond the regular increases.
