Brooklyn was conceived in New York.  The Spice Girls were there on tour and David flew out after he was red-carded at the World Cup that year.

Romeo was called after Ipswich Town's 80's Surinamese midfielder Romeo Zondervan.  Cruz was born in Spain when David played for Real Madrid but his name is in honour of their friend and actor Tom Cruise.
