Hello everyone, I am new to this site and I have a question.
I have been thinking about joining the IAAP. If anyone out there is currently a member, can you share with me your experiences with the organization and whether or not you have found it to be a valuable resource?
I would really appreciate any feedback anyone could give me.

Claudia: Welcome to TAA!
I'm sure you will find LOTS of information on EVERY side of the IAAP fence... and all you have to do to get it is research older posts. Discussions about IAAP often get heated here, because there are so many varied views on it's worth, or lack thereof (depending on your viewpoint). There is also a new forum, called the Study Hall, for those who are taking coursework in admin accreditation.
Thanks for posting... and thanks for looking to TAA for your questions!

Claudia, welcome! I'm trying to go back and find the specific discussion that we've had on IAAP and other organizations (both pros and cons). We're a friendly bunch overall, but as in any group we all have our opinions and aren't afraid to voice them. Feel free to sift through our back posts and see if anything there might be able to answer your question. I'm sure you'll find lots of helpful information contained on this site.

If you have a choice between more than one IAAP chapter, shop carefully! Otherwise, CG gives good advice: go back to the former postings. They shouldn't be too hard to find.

Claudia... I've found some old posts that might help you out. If you go to pag 5, about 1/2 way down, there's a post titled "What do you think of different admin orgnizations". On page 4, 1/2 way down is one called "CPS Exam". On page 13, 1/2 way down is one titled "IAAP Membership/CPS Rating --Worth It?" and then further down (2nd from bttom) on that same page is one titled "Administrative Professionals Day".
Some of these might not seem to be exacty what you're looking for but we tended to get sidetracked on some of them and it might actually end up with information that you'll find relevent if you read on.
Hope this helps some, and I'm sure some others will be glad to speak up with ideas.
