Just had to share because it made me feel pride in the company's generosity.

The global corporation I work for just sent a notice to all their employees worldwide.  In addition to the US operating companies that are already providing people, supplies, and technological resources to the relief effort, the corporation established a September 11th Fund and donated $2 million.

In addition, any employee donation to the fund will be matched dollar for dollar.  At our location, we were taking donations for the relief effort - it's nice to know the generosity of the employees will be doubled.

I'm proud too.  My company put out a notice this morning that they have donated $1M to a Sept. 11th Relief Fund.  I haven't heard any plans to match employee contributions, but I'm proud that a company with headquarters in Europe has gone this far.

Here are two more examples of companies - one US company and one foreign company - stepping up to the plate and making a contribution to help make a difference in what is happening in New York, Washington DC and Pennsylvania.  Proud to say I work for Hyundai Motor Finance Company and my daughter works for Pepsi, both here on the west coast.

Hyundai Motor Company will donate $300,000 to the American Red Cross in response to the tragic events that occurred in New York and Washington earlier this week, Hyundai Chairman Mong-Koo Chung announced today.

"This is a very sad time," the Chairman said.  "What happened this week affects everyone around the world.  But we have great faith that this donation -- along with donations from others around the world -- will enable the American Red Cross help people who need help the most."

The thoughts and prayers of everyone at Hyundai Motor America and Hyundai Motor Finance Company go out to the victims, their families and the brave rescue teams working around the clock to help find and assist the injured.

Our support for the relief efforts in New York City, Washington and Pennsylvania continues. In New York, for example, in addition to the 50,000 cases of Aquafina we mentioned earlier, almost 800 cases of Gatorade (nearly 18,500 24-oz. Bottles) and 1,300 cases of Energy Bars (58,500 bars) have

been provided. We are working with all our divisions and the city, the Salvation Army and the Red Cross, our customers and bottlers to ensure a steady supply of PepsiCo products is delivered to multiple relief points whenever they request, and that offer is open-ended and unlimited. We have made a similar commitment to provide Frito, Pepsi and Trop products for meals being offered at the Counseling Center being set-up in New York for Trade Center victims and their families. The same type of assistance is being delivered in Washington, and in Pittsburgh we are supplying product to the workers at the plane crash site there.

Our (global) company has established a 10million dollar fund for the families of the rescue workers, and is matching dollar for dollar every donation by an employee over $25 to the Red Cross ... simply amazing
