Are all you city girls okay?  I made it to work before all the trouble and should be lucky enough to be able to walk home (if I can get pass the police), but at the moment I'm not going anywhere!  A couple of our offices are within a police cordon and no one is allowed to enter or leave the building.  Everyone is very shook up.

Please report in!

We are being told we are not allowed to leave the office, but at the same time I have heard that Sea Containers House also are not letting people IN either.

Luckily all our people are safe, if not stuck in various locations (so far!).

Hope everyone else is ok,

Jess

Here's praying that all of you London gals and your families and loved ones are safe.  Please know that my prays and thoughts remain without throughout the day.

My son is in London this week on business and I'm really worried about him.  Neither his wife or I have been able to make contact as yet.

Thank you for your kind words.  I hope your son is able to call you soon.  A lot of the mobile networks here have gone down or are suffering an intermittent service, so it's difficult to contact people.  Hopefully you'll hear from him soon.

Here's hoping that everyone from DD and their families are safe.

Pat - hope you hear from your son soon.  My hubby is down in London today and I have not heard from him yet so, like you, I am worried but keeping fingers crossed that everything is ok.

Thanks for checking in with us, we are all happy to hear that you are safe.  Is there anyone else that you can think of who hasn't checked in yet?  How about our DD staff members??  Pat, I am sure that your son will contact you as soon as he can.  Take care everyone.  Be safe.

I know this is a little like shutting the door after the horse has bolted, but would it not be a good idea if we all banded together by city, then if there are 'disasters' like this or similar, then the board cna pm people in that city to a) check they are alive, and b) get them to check through their connections if some's relative/colleague is in that city and if they are ok.

What do you all think, in principle, about a just in case support system as DD members are all over the place and can give support etc if they want to.

Just an idea, of course, but I would be interested in what everyone thinks?

What a horrible horrible tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with all you hoping you all come through this safe and sound. It's so sad how monstrous some fanatical individuals can be.

Praying and hoping that everyone is fine.  What a horrible tragedy!  It brings up the same horrible disbelief as when New York was attacked.  It's hard to believe that people like this actually exist in this world.

You are all in my prayers.

I've just spoken with my nephew who works in the City - he was having a breakfast meeting near where the worst tube bomb exploded when it happened.  He said everything was fine one moment - they didn't hear or feel anything - and then the next dozens of police and emergency personnel running around.  It was very scary.  He's now walking home across London and hopes to be home in about 90 minutes.  Says it's a very surreal atmosphere.

The news says there are now over 30 dead.  We've got off very lightly when you think that over 2 million use the tube each day - and so much few casualties than Madrid.

My prayers are with everyone who's caught up in this nightmare.

My prayers on behalf of all of you, especially Pat and Val. Hopefully, it's from the phone lines being down.
Does anyone else have loved ones missing?
