This is one of my favorite quotes:
Quote
“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
― Confucius

How many feel they are in a job they love, and if you aren't, what would you change to make it the perfect job.  (work from home, more creative tasks, better co-workers, different job, baking cookies all day, a remote office from a beautiful beach.. well that is a bit unrealistic.. laptops and beaches.. too much glare!).

I now have a job that I love - working for myself - disagree wholeheartedly with Confusius though as I believe nothing in this life comes easy or free!  I work hard at what I do, I feel satisfaction in what I achieve and I don't let the little things or disappointments get to me, because there are always more opportunities in life if you look for them (rather than assuming the worst all the time!).

As for laptops and beaches, you obviously haven't found the right screen shield, spot on the beach or right equipment.  I used to work for a lady who took her iPad with her on holiday and would happily continue working (on a reduced hours basis) on the beach while watching her husband and children entertain themselves!

Jess - with coffee and chocolate filled dounuts, waiting for 15 November to roll by (Beaujolais Nouveau don't ya know!)

If I could have my current job three days a week without any overtime, extra days, special projects I would be in hog heaven.  I joke my perfect job would be a bearista at Starbucks and only part time - I'd even work the early shift.

I am most definitely NOT in my dream job at this time. Still thinking on what it would be though.

I love the job I have now and have done for the last 9 years, but, if I do get the job I have just had an interview for it will definitely be my dream job and would see me right through to retirement I hope in 20 yrs time!  Unfortunately I can't say much about the job at the moment but its a PA position.
