Several things I enjoy about my job:
I love making travel arrangements for the Managers and Supervisors whom I don't understand how they can travel the way they do as I have done it only once and now have a greater respect for them in that part of their job. I love helping them out and making sure each and every trip goes uneventful.
Second, I love helping out our Accounts Payable Department as needed. If one of the three ladies is out on vacation, etc. I am the backup and I truly enjoy doing that kind of input/data entry work. Seems like busy work but at least it's that and I am doing something constructive and helpful to that department at the same time.
Thirdly, I love doing research especially when it pays off. I had the opportunity to do that not too long ago for bossie and unfortunatley there was not much information gathered that's new, but at least we have the information that is currently available and can work from that til the new stuff comes in. I also found a contact person that is fairly reliable in responding (from the government if you can believe that) and letting me know if there has been any final decisions made or any new information posted yet.
I always love learning new things and am most definetly a hands on person. If I'm not busy doing that I get totally bored and frustrated very quickly.
Fourth and last but not least, I have a super boss whom I've now had the pleasure of working with for 6 years. He's very flexible and very approachable about most things and is always willing to let me try new things (within reason of course). Most recently we were awarded a huge contract and they needed lots of help out of state. Lo and behold the first time in 5+ years he's allowed me to leave the nest as it were and help out another department to reach their already shortened deadline. Fortunatley we made it with lots of hands on deck pulled from other locations that we operate. Quite the experience indeed.
