With all that has happened, my director was me to get more information about video conferencing.  (Less air travel)  Poor thing!  I know he was really freaked out about everything.

He was at a conference in Palm Beach on Monday and supposed to come back on Tuesday.  But since the airports were shut down, he ended up driving back from Palm Beach to Chicago!  He wasn't sticking around if he didn't have to!

Please let me know!  Thanks!

Bohorquez,

Try WebX.  They are the biggest provider (Canon and Merril Lynch use them), and they are ala carte.

Also, you can try Net Presentor.  They are both on the web.

Bridget,

I know there are several in Chicago...if I could only remember the names.  Are you looking to install your own, or just find a place that does it?

We just donated all our video conferencing equipment from the office we closed...and I believe the company that installed it for us is RSI in Naperville.  All the info I had on local video conferencing sites is gone now...teach me for being so through in my cleaning efforts.

Let me know if you have any luck, email me at daisylee@administrative-assistants.com...I have a contact, the concierge at my old building that might know.  I'm on vacation next week...so if you write, I might not get back to you right away.

There are numerous videoconferencing services out there. If this is a rare occurence though, the cheapest way to go may be Kinko's which offers videoconference linkups throughout their chain. You just reserve rooms in each city (since Kinko's is practically everywhere and they are often open 24 hours).

You know my boss did mention that Kinkos did it but it's not a route he want's to go.

He's thinking of something for the office.  I think.  I'll let you guys know more info later on.

You buy the equipment yourself (I know my company in the past used PicTel, but there are many companies that provide this) and then order up the videoconference lines from the major phone players (for instance we used AT&T Videoconference services). Rates for a bridge (a multi line conference call rather than a direct videocam to videocam link) ran about $60-75/hr/per line a few years ago. Not sure what they are at now.
