Reading the other post about "Cost of Living vs Wages", I just wondered, what is everyone paying for gasoline in their area (US and UK).  I'm in Mississippi and filled up earler this week, price was $3.93 per gallon.

Rochester, NY (Upstate) is paying 4.19 per gallon.  I don't even want to look at the other grades, it's way out of my range.  You can get cheaper at BJ's and Sam's Warehouse clubs, but other than that, if you find a Delta Sonic that will give you a break on the price of gas if you buy a car wash.  Otherwise, we find gas sales in our home town where they knock off 5 cents on Sundays, but, it's still high.

I just passed a station with $4.15 for regular.

Check out this site to find the lowest gas price in your area:

http://www.gasbuddy.com - you can type in your zip code at the top and it will show you where the cheapest gas is (but this site depends on volunteers inputting the gas prices they see daily, so take it with a grain of salt).

I filled up just this morning for $3.89 (cash price, which is $.05 cheaper than credit price).  Some gas stations in my area are starting to do this.  I just got a debit card for my account, mostly so I could use it for gas purchases and now they start offering a cash discount - LOL.  Oh well, I'll gladly use cash for $.05 a gallon!!!!

Up to £1.15 a litre now over here in NI.  It seems to be going up by the day!

In my part of the UK (Oxford) it's now £1.17 per litre - £5.31 a gallon - US $10.36.  And it's still going up.

Just so people in the UK don't think I have gone totaly batty and think that the fuel costs where I am are cheap - I did convert it into US Gallon rather than UK as the previous posts on the threads where per US Gallon.

The actually price I paid was £1.17 per litre.

Okay - I'm going to have to ask - is a US gallon not the same size as a UK gallon?

No I believe it is less, but will stand corrected by our American friends!

£1.13 - £1.17 is the range across central Scotland - per litre for unleaded.
