Some very poignant news on Sky at the moment with regard to above as the veterans travel to France.
We shall be going to the D-Day Anniversary Air Show at Duxford tomorrow.
May we never forget the sacrificies made on our behalf.
In rememberance, Nicola.

It was only a few years before he died that I found out my Dad's cousin Alec was involved in the D-Day landings. He was already in his 80s by that point, but his memories of the war were still very clear and vivid, and we had some very moving conversations about this and his time in Italy and Berlin.
I'm very glad I had this opportunity, and wish more people of my generation (early 30s) had the same. Mum and Dad were children during the war, so I was always brought up with their stories, but the conversations I had with Alec were altogether different. I thought about him a lot this weekend.
