I was preparing for an offsite meeting and had the presentations loaded, made sure they were on a back up flash drive and it made me think back to when we used transparencies and overhead projectors.  So I thought I would ask, what "back in the day" memories do you have?  (another I have are green text based monitors... before "windows")  Shocked

Another memory is back 10 - 15 years ago we had more company outings, and company based perks such as logo'd  polo shirts or t-shirs.

Carbon paper, CRTs, mouse-less computers, green bar paper with the feeder edges, typewriters.
Sadly I'm still using one of those green text programs.

Ahhh, yes and one executive to focus on and Jr Admins to handle the rest.  Now, two or more execs and no more Jr. admins.

I've never worked anywhere that had Jr admins unless file clerks counts.  I do miss the days of a file clerk position, it was nice to hand off the filing and check out files that were needed.

We had jr admins that supported managers and directors.  It was nice to have an extra set of hands when needed.

I miss all the things back then everything from the typewriter to the telex machine. Back then we would all go to lunch at the same time and socilise in the pub it never happens anymore i love the notes put on peoples desk and even the frumpy looking women in the stationary department (no longer in existince), we all dressed up more then all very smart now people where what they like.

Today feels like we're more distanced from each other... oh those were the days!!!!

Completely agree with everyone regarding the Jr. Admins and that life seemed to be more FUN (we had teams) but professional in the workplace. I now always have to dress up, but no one is ever here. EVER; so why am I doing it? I started off totally polished; today, I'm going to work with a sweater and my hair is all over the place. Since I'm in the office all by myself and no one to talk to, I twiddle my thumbs and think about the days that I had an awesome team, great colleagues and we used to get flowers on our desks every Wednesday. YES, fresh flowers and stock options and bonuses and you know it, we got it. We wanted to order something we needed for our desks; never a worry. And the office outtings were FANTABULOUS!
