Have you bought anything for the office that you wish you hadn't? It could be about quality of a product, the actual wrong product, something that didn't fit. I ask this because of the HP ad on our home page. It says beware of hidden cost. Well, I just bought a bargain toner and regret it! It didn't last, nor was the quality very good. I thought something was wrong with my printer. I went back to original brand toner (actually it does happen to be HP) and the quality of my prints outs are back to normal and it is lasting longer. There must be other products out there that people have had experience with.

I have bought the ink jet cartridges from on of those save 80% of normal price websites and agree, it wasn't worth the savings. The red ink died really fast. The other product was digital recorder. If I had to go back I would have spent more money but got one with better quality, more hard drive space. I wish I remembered the name of the recorder, but I don't.

About 3 years ago when I was with a previous employer, due to trying to cut costs, I ordered a cheaper brand of Post-It Notes. They did not stick for more than about 5 seconds - if you peeled it off, it would not stick again  Had hundreds of the damn things that were useless. They are probably still sitting in the back of the cupboard when I threw them

A cheaper version of Pritt-Stick. It dries really quickly and you have to re-apply it at least 4 times for it to stick things together.

Not something I have done (I have consciously avoided it) ... buying cheap paper for the copier/printer.
Recycling is great but if one buys the very cheap recycled paper it sheds 'fibres' in the printer and does damage - the ultimate cost saving is wasted on printer maintenance.
