Well how long have you got Susan?!  Wink

I have been complimented many times at different companies on various aspects of my work and personality.  In particular I would say my attention to detail gets noticed and the fact I do my job with a smile.

 Cool
Ah, but there are compliments and compliments if you know what I mean.

The ones I tend to get (and sometimes would rather not receive) are the ones where if certain fee earners' own secretaries are not around, in the office or are away for lunch or holiday, they feel the need to come to me, thinking "of course Jess will do it straightaway/yesterday/last week! she has never said no to me".

Jess! Wink

There are a couple that stand out.  Many years ago, I worked in HR administering Employee Benefits, assisting them with disability claims, work comp, health and dental claim issues, life insurance claims.  One gnetleman in our field office was diagnosed with cancer.  I assisted he and his wife with all aspects of his benefits throughout his illness.  Unfortunately, he passed away.  A few weeks later, i received a bouquet of roses and a card from his wife.  He had told her, after he was gone, to thank me for all I had done to assist he and his wife during his illness.  Needless to say, I went into an office, shut the door, and cried like a baby.

Recently, I was given an award and roses by my boss in front of his entire organization for outstanding performance.  Since he is not one to give praise freely, this meant alot to be recognized by him especially in front of that audience.

The compliments that stand out are: champagne and champagne truffles (my favourite chocolates) sent to me by members of our Board on two separate occasions as thank-yous for things I had done.

Yesterday, I sent an email to someone who I had promised last year to email about a particular project when the project started this year.  I received a reply saying she was most impressed I had remembered to contact her (scheduled in Outlook, of course).  That was very pleasing.

But champagne and chocolates will get me any time.

Best wishes,

Rose

Rose,

I got chocolates this afternoon.  A thank you from those individuals I hardly ever meet, who contact me by phone and email.  One happened to be in the office today and swung by.

I was going to share them but decided not to.  In this heat they are even better straight from the fridge. Cheesy
