What do you Remember?

The 50s brought us
Coloured TV
How many of us
Watched the Queen?

The 60s launched
The mini skirt
And Twiggy too
Oh what a flirt!

The 70s saw
The Brady Bunch
The 80s brought
The Hair Bear Bunch

The Double Deckers
Were my fav
The Bay City Rollers
Were the whole rave

Armstrong landed
On the moon
The Pink Panther
Was once a cartoon

The Banana Splits
Were no dessert
I watched Sesame Street
With Ern and Bert

Zorro was shown
In black and white
Some thought Elvis
Was a sight

Summer Holiday
Starsky and Hutch
These were things
We loved so much

Why Don’t You…?
On Saturday morns
Remember Star Trek?
And Flash Gordon?

Champion was
The wonder horse
Bring back The Golden Girls
Bring back Morse

Remember Fame?
I loved that show
Top of the Pops
With Legs & Co.

Bell bottom jeans
Platform Shoes
Showaddywaddy
The Moody Blues

No Amy, Lindsay
J-Lo or Pink
We had Doris Day
In That Touch of Mink

Hudson, Grant
That was when
We had handsome
Leading men

No Pitt or Clooney
Leo or Bloom
We had Fred Astaire
Dancing round the room

Sinatra, Kelly
Bogart, Bacall
Marlon Brando
We had ‘em all

Charlie’s Angels
Johnny Cash
Stringer, Radar
Instant Mash!

The blue eyed-boy
We know called Essex
Bring back Swap Shop
With Noel Edmonds

Andy Pandy
Loopy Lou
A man called Horse
A boy named Sue

Jailhouse Rock
The Great Escape
Buddy Holly
Calamity Jane

Psycho, Grease
The Wizard of Oz
Happy Days
Starring The Fonz

Joanie and Chachi
Little and Large
Morecombe and Wise
Charles in Charge

ChiPs, the Hoff
Baywatch Babes
Hart to Hart
Were all the craze

Porridge, Soap
Rising Damp
Different Strokes
Carry on Camp…

Penelope Pitstop
She was ace
Dastardly and Muttley
Never won a race

The House on the Prairie
Ian Fleming’s James Bond
Breakfast at Tiffany’s
On Golden Pond

ET and Annie
Abba and Wham
Boy they were great
I was such a fan!

And so to the present
For me it’s a shame
It’s all about texting
And high tech games

With iphones and latops
We stay in touch
Does it all really
Matter that much?

We download our music
No need to buy vinyl
When was the last time
You saw England in a final?

And so here we are
In 2009
So much has happened
In so little time

Back to the future
I’m sure there will be
More things to look back on
To tell our family

Parts of the last one reminded me of parts of the lyrics for "Chess", if you remember that part (with Fred Astair and Ginger Rogers dancing on air).

Very good!
When is your first book being published?  They are good!

Jess (eat your heart out Tracey no-talent Emin!)

Brilliant Gee, and to show my age I remember watching most of those TV shows you mention!
