Do you feel your boss listens to your ideas? If you propose a way to save money would your boss take your idea in account? Or if there is a problem in the office and you wanted to let your boss know, would s/he actually really listen, or do you have a boss that listens but it goes in one ear and out the other?

I think so, but then I keep my suggestions to areas of my expertise - administratively speaking.

Thinks he does but sadly not. And that's after getting that message loud and clear a year ago from staff via consultants, a year of very expensive 1-1 meeetings with consultant for him and fellow directors, what's changed? absolutely nothing!

Sometimes if the time is right, and attention is undivided, no distractions, they listen. I schedule time on the calendar and they know I have matters that need to be talked through...etc. Personalities being as they are, one has a short attention span, so I have to seize the opportunity and hit the most urgent topics for discussion with him first. The other is a little more focused and easier to work with when it comes to communication.

Sometimes, unfortunately not as often as I wished he would. Very often I am right - he admitted only last week.
