Do you think 2013 will be the year the global economy begins to improve again?

Do you feel fairly safe at your company, like your job is not in immediate danger of layoff/termination this year?

No and no....  Smiley

I don't see 2013 as any improvement in the economy.... we haven't reached rock bottom yet, so it's not going to stop yet.

I feel fairly safe, but do think that my type of position will have some danger of layoffs for the coming year.  Sequestrian is going to hit us.

I agree with CG - the global economy is not likely to improve this year.

My company isn't struggling, but we do have to be careful with our expenditure.  We have implemented cost-saving programme to reduce procurement costs, and we have also managed to let part of our building.  We're in a good central position in our city so can market our meeting rooms as a reasonable-cost, but attractive and well-equipped option for meetings.  We have also reduced the amount of money we are owed by four-fifths.

I don't think that any of us will be facing redundancy this year.  We have never had that, although about two years ago there was a difficulty.  We have had a job evaluation and half of us had our salaries frozen or lowered (mine was reduced).

These are hard times for us all, so I guess we have to be grateful if we escape relatively unscathed.

Most days I can convince myself my job is safe, but then is any job safe?  I'm in an employment-at-will state.
However publically traded company if shareholders aren't happy...
