Like everyone else, this event has touched women in a different ways. Women throughout history have always had a healing approach to violence. We are not constantly trying to prove our muscle power. We like to think things out and find a less violent resolution, if at all possible. If you notice, women have a different place in these third world countries...still. They are still covered up in drab and they are not allowed to participate in school.
We are anxious for a "hit," because our society is in a "they hit us on Tuesday, we get ready Wednesday, and we better strike back by Thursday" instant gratification mode. But we must be "thinking" women, now. This was not a random act of violence. We can expect the same sort of battle to come, and a good portion will be right here in the USA. These people will not go easily into the night, they do not fear us...WE MUST NOT FEAR THEM. This fight will be won by the will of the American Citizens, the strongness of women, not by software or smart bombs. We must be patient with our military leaders...and not so eager to put this messy time behind us because our adversaries have time on their side, and they will use it. They plan to fight a battle of attrition, hoping to drag the battle out until the American people lose their will to fight.
What can we do? We can start "thinking." We have been sleeping and this attack woke us up. It has or should have changed some orders of priorities. We must become strong, physically, mentally, and spiritually. We know the opposite of fear is love, and we're also aware that through prayers come miracles. There is a vigil going on across the world. At 12:00 noon Eastern Time, 11:00 Central Time, 9:00 am Pacific Time, there will be prayer said for a minimum of 10 minutes. You are encouraged to join in at this time to pray.
