Does the company, for which you work, have a policy to facilitate working from home?  If so, what is the policy?  May everyone apply to work from home some of the time, most of the time, or all of the time? How does your company facilitate people who carer needs - a child to take and pick up from school, for example.  Thank you in advance for your replies.

We have people that work from home on a weekly basis.  Every Friday or a set day.  I am not eligible.   It is on a case by case decision and depends on a bunch of things.  Anyone who is expected to be on the phone is not really eligible.  Customer Service, the support staff,  accounting dept.  The people (lucky ones) are the programmers, writers, project oriented departments.  I think we all should be able to, but that is how it is.

Our company has a telecommuting policy which requires a form to be filled out and some justification provided. It would be rare for it to be approved for full time. A few days a week is more common.

We also have a flexwork schedule where you could, for instance work an extra hour and take off a half day during the week.
